What you'll do
Design and build infrastructure and tooling to diagnose software: non-determinism across autonomous driving systems
Investigate and resolve non-deterministic execution patterns across Waymo codebases
Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in software engineering or a related technical field
Strong programming skills in C++
Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and systems debugging
Experience with statistical data analysis, anomaly detection, or tracing tools
What they're looking for
- Understanding of common sources of software non-determinism (e.g.,: concurrency/race conditions, floating-point determinism, etc.)
- Experience with graph execution frameworks
- Help solve challenging problems with a direct impact on the company
