What you'll do

  • Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on: mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include, but is not limited to first article parts, in-process and final inspection on assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings.

  • Understand GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.

  • Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements

  • Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality. Inspect feature: tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy

  • Candidate will be responsible for working in a cross-functional environment: utilizing CMM programming software in conjunction with bridge-style machines up to possible 5axis head motion.

  • Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort and organize all programs created to: ensure they are readily available and saved to the current revision (in close coordination with Quality Assurance supervision)

  • Assist engineering with making part inspection plans
  • Identify engineering, design, GD&T issues and errors creating ambiguity in: the manufacturing and inspection process.
  • Make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability
