The opportunity
Spotify is looking for a Contractor Music Editor to join our ANZ Editorial team, reporting to the Editorial
What you'll do
Curate engaging playlists and editorial experiences across genres for ANZ: audiences, balancing data insight with cultural instinct and human judgement
Analyse user behaviour, streaming data and performance metrics to optimise: programming and surface audience-growth opportunities
Create compelling written commentary, video content and on-camera editorial: moments that bring Spotify's editorial voice to life on platform and across social channels
Identify emerging music trends, scenes and culturally significant moments —: ensuring Spotify's local programming is timely and authoritative
Champion local artists and identify export opportunities across Spotify's global editorial network
Work cross functionally with other departments within Spotify (including: marketing and comms) to realise local market goals and editorial priorities
What they're looking for
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in music programming, curation, culture: journalism or a related role across digital, radio, music, TV or similar platforms
- Broad genre expertise with deep knowledge across Dance, Electronic and: Hip-Hop looked on particularly favourably
- Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand music culture, with the: ability to read and forecast cultural trends globally
- Confident and engaging on camera, with the ability to talk about music with: authority and authenticity for a broad audience
- Excellent written skills: able to craft sharp, compelling commentary on music and culture
- Deep understanding of digital content, social media and digital culture, with: proven experience in engaging with young audiences online
- Proven experience using AI tools to drive process efficiency and enhance workflows
- Comfortable using data and analytics to inform editorial decisions and measure performance
