What you'll do

  • CECL Reporting: Oversee the monthly CECL calculations and reporting process, collaborating closely with accounting and strategic finance teams to ensure the robustness of methodology and accuracy of loss reserve calculations.

  • Loss Forecasting: Refine existing loss forecasting models / methodologies which feed into monthly CECL calculations, to improve the overall accuracy and stability of forecasts. Develop loss projection and expected loss estimation methodologies for revolving products (e.g. credit card).

  • Portfolio Risk Strategy: Define, implement, and continuously improve the portfolio risk management strategy (including collections), ensuring alignment with company appetite.

  • Risk Reporting and Monitoring: Develop and maintain a comprehensive and timely reporting framework to provide risk visibility to management, ensuring that risk and return are optimized and in line with company goals. Define and monitor key KPIs

  • Emerging Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify emerging risks and propose data-driven mitigation solutions to minimize potential losses and optimize returns.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with Product Management, Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Accounting, and Strategic Finance teams, driving alignment and facilitating data-driven decision-making.

What they're looking for

  • Policy Management: Maintain and update CECL methodology documents and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • + years of experience in consumer or small business lending in a quantitative: risk strategy / analytics role, with hands-on experience in loss forecasting and expected loss estimation.
  • Quantitative degree (Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Operations Research): preferred, Masters Degree or MBA a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python/R, with experience in data visualization tools such as Hex/ Tableau/Looker/Sigma
