What you'll do

  • Architect and implement robust diagnostics infrastructure, tooling and: processes to improve the efficiency of troubleshooting self-driving and base vehicle systems

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on sensing, compute, actuator, and: support systems, guiding and supporting them through diagnostics design and improvement

  • Lead analysis of sub-system diagnostics gaps and needs, informing future diagnostics investment

  • Evolve Waymo’s Diagnostics strategy through technical and organizational leadership

  • A Bachelors or Masters in EE/ME/CE/CSE or related field

  • + years experience working adjacent to or developing diagnostics in: automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics

What they're looking for

  • Hands-on experience working directly with deployed systems (HW and SW),: ideally in a fast-paced automotive or tech environment
  • Wide breadth of knowledge in the EE/CE/CS/Mech realm, and can spin up on a new topic very quickly
  • Working knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (C++, Python, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience driving diagnostics development for a module, system, or program
