The opportunity
Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director, Actuarial to join our Actuarial team.
What you'll do
Own decision-making responsibilities related to Actuarial methodologies,: model enhancements, and business initiatives including but not limited to continually refining Actuarial approaches across the Director's portfolio and the business as a whole.
Oversee the end-to-end actuarial pricing processes within a specific portfolio.
Promote long-term goals and objectives that guide the strategic direction of: the Actuarial function as a whole.
Have an in-depth understanding of key financial risks and opportunities: within the domain and more broadly across Oscar's business. Apply learnings to guide analytical pricing, prospective pricing strategy, SAE considerations, network strategy, and other unique mitigation strategies.
Mentor, coach, and provide Actuarial team members with regular feedback and developmental guidance.
Provide an Actuarial viewpoint within cross-functional discussions across: finance, P&L, product development, etc. to drive business objectives, insights, and understandings.

- Lead and shape Oscar Actuarial best practices with respect to automation and documentation.
- Develop strong relationships, rapport, and lines of communication with both: internal and external senior stakeholders.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
