What you'll do
Own high-volume production test: yield, coverage, escape rate, first-pass yield, tester throughput, and tester uptime; drive cross-functional root cause with CAM, PCB operations, and SMT.
Build and lead a team of engineers and specialists: hire, develop, and set performance expectations.
Own test fixture and rack design for multi-unit production test: mechanical design of fixtures and racks that hold and present multiple units, plus the electrical interface, designed for production rate, changeover, and durability.
Own test PCBA design and release: schematic, layout, bring-up, and fabrication/assembly of boards used in the test process.
Set the bar for test programs, fixtures/racks, test boards, and equipment: (ICT / Teradyne, flying probe, and related GSE); sign production readiness for new products and panel revisions.
Set priorities and capacity across new-product introduction, sustaining, and debug.
What they're looking for
- Provide leadership a clear operating picture: staffing, yield, downtime, and throughput.
- Partner with electrical test leaders at other SpaceX factories to transfer working production test capability.
- Travel to other sites as needed; this role is based on site in Bastrop.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
