What you'll do

  • Lead and manage the acquisition and maintenance of licenses, permits, and: authorizations related to energetic materials (e.g., ATF, DoD, state fire marshal).

  • Serve as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all: energetic materials safety matters with regulatory bodies (e.g., ATF, DoD Explosives Safety Board, State Fire Marshal, OSHA, EPA).

  • Establish and maintain adherence to waste management protocols for hazardous: and energetic waste, ensuring compliant disposal and demilitarization processes.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive explosives safety plans,: operating procedures, safety cases, hazard classifications, and quantity distance (QD) calculations for facilities, operations, and test activities.

  • Conduct and document regular and specialized explosives safety inspections,: audits, and compliance assessments of facilities, equipment, and operations.

  • Lead and participate in internal and external explosives safety audits,: driving the identification of corrective and preventative actions.

What they're looking for

  • Develop and deliver specialized training programs on energetic materials: safety, including hazard awareness, handling procedures, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead complex hazard analyses and quantitative risk assessments (QRA) for: energetic material processes, designs, and operations (e.g., PHA, HAZOP, FMEA, safety cases), ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are integrated.
  • Investigate all energetic materials-related incidents, near misses, and: non-conformances, performing root cause analysis and implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Provide expert on-site technical guidance and direct support for all: activities involving energetic materials, from R&D to manufacturing and testing.
