The opportunity
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
What you'll do
Develop and build out logistics and fulfillment solutions that directly: support program objectives and overall strategy, ensuring scalable, efficient, and cost-effective supply chain operations for satellite manufacturing and ground infrastructure programs.
Manage daily inbound and outbound shipping operations to support satellite: manufacturing and ground infrastructure production, ensuring materials and finished products flow efficiently through the supply chain.
Oversee carrier performance and on-time delivery metrics for both inbound: components and outbound shipments; track performance through operational KPIs and drive corrective actions when targets are missed.
Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Supply Chain, Manufacturing: Engineering, and Quality) to align shipping schedules with production needs and resolve material shortages or delivery issues in real time.
Execute sourcing and rate management activities for carriers and logistics: providers, including obtaining quotes, negotiating spot rates, and managing ongoing performance with 3PLs and freight partners.
Analyze and improve outbound transportation methods, routing, and packaging: to reduce cost, transit time, and damage while supporting high-mix, high-volume manufacturing requirements.
What they're looking for
- Develop and maintain operational dashboards and KPIs that provide visibility: into shipping performance, carrier reliability, and fulfillment status for manufacturing and ground infrastructure programs.
- Lead cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives focused on shipping: operations, including mode optimization, packaging improvements, and freight consolidation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable shipping regulations, including: customs, Incoterms, hazardous materials (as required), and export control requirements.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for shipping and logistics issues,: leading root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions with carriers and internal stakeholders.
