Manufacturing Engineer, Structures and Mechanical Integration, SpaceNew$194K

The opportunity

Anduril’s Space Manufacturing team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Structures and Mechanical Integration to join our team. Your expertise will help ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability at Anduril.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) and tooling —: lifting and handling fixtures, rotation and integration stands, transport and shipping fixtures — that the structures and vehicle integration lines depend on.

  • Perform load-path and structural-margin checks on MGSE and tooling, defining: factors of safety and coordinating proof-load and qualification testing before equipment is released for use on flight hardware.

  • Develop and qualify mechanical/structural integration processes: precision fastening and torque control, bonded and shimmed joints, mechanism and module installation, and alignment to metrology-defined datums.

  • Author and maintain work instructions, travelers, and as-built records for: the structural and mechanical build.

  • Drive Design for Manufacturability and Assembly into structural and: vehicle-level designs before CDR — access, fastener reach, tool clearance, and integration order.

  • Own cleanroom manufacturing practice on your line: contamination control, FOD prevention, gowning and material flow across ISO 7 and ISO 5 environments.

What they're looking for

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for nonconformances; support: PFMEA, process validation, and first article inspection.
  • Act as an owner and evangelist for Anduril's Manufacturing Development: Process (MDP), and use Foundry and Teamcenter as the system of record for build definition, work instructions, and as-built records.
  • Support design reviews (PDR, CDR) and manufacturing readiness reviews, and: provide hands-on technical support to integration technicians on the floor.
