The opportunity

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

What you'll do

  • Conduct, document, and present static, thermal, dynamic, and durability: analyses for Raptor Turbomachinery through FEA and first principles to inform design decisions and ensure reliability and performance requirements are met

  • Output requirements and capabilities for engine/stage interfaces for all phases of flight

  • Collaborate in driving necessary analyses throughout engine component design cycles

  • Ensure model predictions are grounded in reality through a practical hands-on approach

  • Work closely with hardware and test teams to drive model anchoring and design improvements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline

What they're looking for

  • + years of experience in structural analysis or design (extracurricular and internship experience qualifies)
  • Proficient in statics, mechanics of materials, durability, dynamics, and/or heat transfer
  • Experience with FEA setup and post-processing
  • Able to perform hand calculations to validate and improve models
