What you'll do
Set technical direction for major infrastructure systems and lead ambiguous: initiatives spanning multiple teams.
Design, build, and operate reliable cloud platforms, bringing depth in one or: more areas such as compute, networking, storage, stateful systems, or infrastructure control planes.
Improve the scalability, capacity management, isolation, recovery, and cost: efficiency of critical production infrastructure.
Build standardized infrastructure-as-code workflows and reusable automation: that support self-service provisioning, testing, progressive rollout, reconciliation, rollback, and drift prevention.
Identify shared failure modes and build safeguards that prevent localized: failures from escalating into broad customer impact.
Contribute to multi-account, multi-region, and isolated AWS architectures,: including regulated environments such as GovCloud.
What they're looking for
- Participate in operational ownership and incident response, using incidents: and near misses to drive durable architectural improvements.
- Mentor engineers, raise the quality of infrastructure design and operational: judgment, and establish patterns that can be adopted across the organization.
- Clearly communicate architecture, trade-offs, risks, and migration plans to: technical and organizational stakeholders.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on: Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
