The opportunity
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
What you'll do
Apply engineering analysis and design principles to evaluate facilities,: processes, machinery, and equipment for potential hazards; develop and implement engineered controls (e.g., machine guarding, ventilation, structural/safety systems)
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on job hazard assessments,: design reviews, and implementation of policies/procedures
Perform inspections, audits, and engineering evaluations of facilities,: machinery, and equipment to identify issues and recommend corrective/preventive measures
Investigate incidents, accidents, or process issues using root-cause analysis: techniques; develop and track engineering-based corrective actions
Support development of contingency/emergency plans and operational procedures
Provide engineering guidance to internal customers on design-for-safety,: process improvements, and compliance with applicable standards
What they're looking for
- Monitor and analyze operational data (e.g., exposures, discharges, or process: parameters) and recommend engineering solutions
- Maintain documentation, records, and reports as required for operational and regulatory needs
- Bachelor’s degree
- + years of experience in engineering design, development, analysis,: operations, or manufacturing (aerospace, industrial, or similar high-reliability environment preferred)
