What you'll do
Assess the credit quality in terms of our business credit card customers' ability to repay
Review bank statements and financial statements to underwrite Brex customers
Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations requiring deeper: investigation into applicant financials or edge-case scenarios
Review existing underwriting processes and proactively identify and recommend: improvements that align underwriting outcomes with broader organizational goals
Track and communicate key underwriting metrics (e.g., approval rates,: turnaround time, loss rates) to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful way
Build and maintain relationships with key partners across Risk, Sales,: Engineering, and Product to drive underwriting initiatives forward
What they're looking for
- Serve as a subject matter expert within your area of underwriting, executing: with high precision and actively helping to up-level those around you
- Contribute to the ongoing learning and success of your team and the company: by sharing knowledge through mentorship, collaboration, and aiding in documentation
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field
- + years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or a related field
