What you'll do
Experience designing or supporting land mobile radio systems, including site: layout, channel and talkgroup planning, and capacity.
Working knowledge of RF coverage principles, including site placement, ERP,: antennas, and field or drive-test validation.
Hands-on experience configuring and programming LMR infrastructure and: subscriber radios (repeaters, consoles, portables, and mobiles), including codeplugs and firmware.
Ability to troubleshoot RF, IP backhaul, and system-level faults and document: findings for operations and maintenance.
Experience supporting installation, testing, cutover, or acceptance of radio: systems in the field or with customer teams.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, electrical: engineering, or other STEM discipline and 2+ years professional land mobile radio systems engineering experience OR 5+ years professional land mobile radio systems engineering experience without a degree.
What they're looking for
- Direct experience with Motorola Solutions or other DMR platforms, especially MOTOTRBO and/or ASTRO P25.
- Familiarity with alternatives to conventional DMR, including cellular: push-to-talk and mobile-based PTT applications and interoperability with LMR systems.
- Use of RF prediction or coverage tools and proven results meeting in-building: or on-street reliability targets.
- Experience with encryption, interoperability, and public-safety feature sets.
