What you'll do
Perform at least two of the following processes, depending upon the needs of: the business: Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding/stick welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/TIG welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding/MIG welding (GMAW)
Fit up and weld structures or pipe spools made of mild carbon steel, low: alloy, stainless, aluminum, or exotics, depending upon the needs of the business
Communicate with management/supervisors, engineering staff, and planners to achieve build efficiency
Perform fabrication math to derive dimensions, angles, pup lengths, part: locations, etc., from drawings (understand take-offs for pipe fittings)
Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan fitting and welding: operations where procedural information is unavailable
Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times,: streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly
What they're looking for
- Check drawings and instructions after each Work Order operation to ensure they are complete
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner
- Set up safety equipment and work platforms at elevation
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an: efficient and effective work environment
