What you'll do
Scope and lead large technical projects, translating business goals into: clear technical requirements and executing effectively.
Align our tech stack with Stripe’s broad strategic initiatives, while also: advocating for the needs of the emerging new businesses.
Work with engineers across the company to deliver comprehensive and reliable: access to trustworthy banking data.
Balance the tradeoffs between short-term requirements and long-term roadmaps.: Make decisions that consider business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
Mentor and collaborate with other engineers and managers to grow the next generation of leaders at Stripe.
What they're looking for
- Strong technical background, including 3+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems
- Comfortable working on a new product under fluid conditions, seamlessly: balancing tactical and strategic considerations
- Track record of leading and shipping complex cross-team projects end-to-end —: from scoping and design through production and operations
- You measure your success in terms of business impact, not lines of code
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Work well cross-functionally and earn trust from co-workers at all levels.: You are often cited as the inspiration for engineers that join your team
- Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale
- Care deeply about mentorship and growing engineers
