What you'll do
Lead as a Technical Expert: Leverage in-depth knowledge and troubleshooting expertise to address complex issues outside of documented standard operating procedures. Engage with Waymo Engineering teams and OEM partners to resolve concerns.
Provide Partner Support: Minimize vehicle downtime by managing escalations from partner technicians facing novel or complex issues. Guide these diagnostics remotely and in-person.
Administer & Develop Training: Conduct on-the-job training (including train-the-trainer) to fleet service teams as a certified instructor. Assist in the continuous development of training content.
Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure market adherence to service and quality assurance standards that drive safety and consistency. Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance.
Document Technical Knowledge: Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, operating procedures, and best practices to support fleet service teams
Proactively Identify Risks and Opportunity: Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address potential issues before they impact fleet uptime. Perform analysis that identifies high value diagnostic development opportunities
What they're looking for
- + years experience in an automotive technician or automotive engineering role
- Mastery of automotive diagnostic strategies and tools covering mechanical,: electrical, and networking (e.g. CAN)
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously while: ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the: ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and executives
