Manufacturing Engineer INew$126K

The opportunity

The General Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team helps Lucid launch safe, efficient, and production-ready assembly processes at scale. The team partners closely with Product Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, and suppliers to translate vehicle…

What you'll do

  • Manufacturing Feasibility: Partner with Design Engineering to review product designs for General Assembly manufacturability and drive design-change recommendations that improve build quality, tool access, ergonomics, cycle time, and production readiness.

  • DFM Leadership: Lead detailed Design for Manufacturing reviews for product, process, tooling, and equipment concepts, and translate findings into actionable requirements, risks, and decisions for cross-functional teams.

  • Process Development: Take assigned assembly processes from concept through prototype build, validation, launch, and stable production by defining process flow, work methods, equipment needs, tooling requirements, and handoff criteria.

  • Launch Execution: Plan and execute launch activities, including prototype builds, virtual build reviews, material-flow readiness, equipment installation, commissioning, issue tracking, and risk-mitigation plans.

  • Process Controls: Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, Bills of Process, PFMEAs, quality control plans, and dimensional-control strategies that support repeatable, quality-focused production.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, error-proofing, and cost-reduction opportunities that improve throughput, quality, safety, ergonomics, and production efficiency.
