Material Planning Manager - Launch & PowertrainActive
The opportunity
At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our “Compromise Nothing™” approach to the global automotive market.
What you'll do
Launch & New Program Readiness: Lead material planning for pre-series, launch, and ramp builds; drive on-time material availability for new programs and manage the controlled transition from launch to steady-state serial production.
Powertrain Planning Oversight: Direct the powertrain planning team to secure the supply of electric drive units, motors, inverters, gearboxes, and related high-voltage components, ensuring capacity, delivery, and inventory align to build demand.
Material Availability: Lead the Material Planning team to ensure parts and materials required for launch and serial production are available in full and on time.
MRP Execution: Own MRP operating discipline and ensure Lucid’s production and launch build requirements are accurately communicated to a global supplier network.
Engineering Change Management: Manage the material impact of engineering changes, running changes, and phase-in / phase-out activity to avoid line-down risk, obsolescence, and excess inventory.
Supplier Performance: Drive supplier issue resolution and delivery recovery plans to improve On-Time, In-Full performance across critical materials, including long-lead powertrain commodities.
What they're looking for
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Quality to resolve material constraints and protect production and launch continuity.
- Executive Visibility: Use data to create clear, accurate communications that help leadership understand launch risk, powertrain supply risk, progress, and required decisions.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement projects that improve OTIF, reduce inventory levels, shorten lead times, and strengthen launch and material planning processes.
- Team Standards: Build and develop a high-performing team across launch and powertrain planning with clear expectations, accountability, and a commitment to operational excellence.
