The opportunity
Anduril is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team at our Costa Mesa HQ. The Maneuver Dominance (MD) Team at Anduril develops aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams in concert with ground maneuver forces.
What you'll do
Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields
Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis of blue-sky engineering problems
Design, implementation, and test of complex electro-mechanical systems
High level system ownership with large levels of professional autonomy
Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
What they're looking for
- Experience developing aircraft subsystem layouts, performing architectural: trade studies, and evaluating vendor performance data
- Competency in engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and electrical
- Hands-on prototyping (soldering, board assembly, harnessing)
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with designing for rugged environments
- Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems (sensors,: payloads, weapons, etc.) onto air vehicles
- Experience in developing a variety of electronics hardware products (UAVs,: wearables, firearms, high power electric propulsion, optical systems, or other complex mechanisms)
- Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power: supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)
