What you'll do
Lead end-to-end design for data-intensive products used by engineers, researchers, and product teams.
Shape the complete learning loop: instrument, launch, observe, investigate, evaluate, decide, and iterate.
Create clear, high-craft workflows for querying, filtering, comparison,: drill-down, visualization, alerting, and sharing.
Make complex concepts—including data freshness, coverage, reliability,: uncertainty, experiment assignment, metric validity, rollout state, and regressions—understandable and actionable.
Partner closely with engineering, data science, research, and product: management to translate deeply technical infrastructure into elegant, coherent product experiences.
Use prototyping, research, and rigorous design exploration to establish: interaction patterns for emerging technical and AI-native workflows.
What they're looking for
- Define shared systems and patterns that create consistency across OpenAI’s enterprise and internal tools.
- Establish a high bar for information architecture, visual hierarchy,: interaction quality, and craft across complex, multi-surface products.
- Have substantial experience owning data products, observability platforms,: experimentation systems, analytics products, developer tools, AI/ML tooling, or similarly technical workflows.
- Are a strong product and systems thinker who can set direction in an: ambiguous space and make durable interaction and platform decisions.
