The opportunity

Stripe’s Tax team helps ensure that Stripe’s products comply with applicable tax requirements. We partner with product teams to understand Stripe’s products, evolving product strategy, and desired business outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the primary tax contact for end-to-end product launch readiness,: partnering with cross-functional teams on tax issues related to Stripe products

  • Identify and assess tax issues associated with product launches, including: indirect tax, information reporting, transfer pricing, and income tax, and work with tax subject matter experts to provide clear requirements to product teams

  • Help draft and implement tax policies and procedures that affect product: operations, keeping them current as tax laws change

  • Support internal user-facing teams, including Account Management, Sales, and: User Operations, in addressing product needs and user questions related to tax

  • Review internal processes and external user communications drafted by: Marketing or User Operations to help ensure that tax-related documentation is clear and useful

  • Assist with other tax projects as needed

What they're looking for

  • or more years of cross-border tax experience at an accounting or law firm,: in-house, or in the financial services or payments industry
  • An advanced degree or professional qualification in tax or law, such as a: Certified Public Accountant certification, Juris Doctor, master’s degree in tax, or Master of Laws degree
  • Knowledge of tax subject areas such as indirect tax, information reporting,: withholding, transfer pricing, and income tax reporting, with experience applying these rules in scalable operations
  • Experience managing time, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to: adapt your communication to different audiences and translate tax laws into requirements for product and engineering teams
  • Experience in both an accounting or law firm and an in-house tax role
  • Experience in technology, payments, financial services, or another high-growth multinational business
  • Experience addressing the tax implications of cross-border product launches
