What you'll do
Own end-to-end revenue recognition for the Gusto Retirement segment (401K: SaaS, IRA, AUM fees, plan administration)
Prepare monthly journal entries, subledger reconciliations, and supporting: schedules for retirement revenue streams
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close within established timelines
Apply ASC 606 guidance to complex arrangements including variable: consideration, contract modifications, and principal vs. agent assessments
Build and maintain automated solutions using AI tools, Python/SQL, or Excel scripting to eliminate manual work
Identify and implement process improvements across the revenue close,: reducing cycle time and increasing accuracy
What they're looking for
- Partner with auditors during annual audits: lead walkthroughs, provide documentation, respond to inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retirement Operations, FP&A, Engineering,: and Data teams on revenue data integrity and new product launches
- Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA preferred (active or in progress)
- + years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on revenue accounting
