The opportunity

MongoDB is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to own disaster recovery and business continuity for the world's leading developer data platform.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Standby Clusters: across Atlas and Enterprise Advanced, from public preview through GA and the post-GA feature set (planned failover and reverse sync, cross-cloud and multi-region topologies, scaling while linked, backup integration)

  • Own the recovery objectives and the tradeoffs behind them: define and defend RTO and RPO targets, replication lag semantics, consistency guarantees across sharded clusters, and the behavior of failover, switchover, and failback

  • Drive the product's position within MongoDB's resilience portfolio: when a customer should choose Standby Clusters versus multi-region clusters, backups and point-in-time restore, or Atlas Stream Processing, and how these offerings fit together

  • Partner with customers in financial services, healthcare, and other regulated: industries to translate compliance requirements (such as DORA and isolated-recovery-environment mandates) into product requirements, and run DR gamedays and design-partner programs with them

  • Define the operator experience across the Atlas UI, Atlas Administration API,: Ops Manager, CLI, and Terraform, including monitoring, alerting on replication lag and standby health, and the "break glass" path when the active region is unreachable

  • Shape pricing and packaging for standby capacity and the associated storage and data transfer

What they're looking for

  • Collaborate with engineering on architecture decisions that affect: customer-visible behavior, including replication through object storage, cluster-wide consistent timestamps, and dependencies on the Atlas control plane
  • Gather and analyze usage data, failover outcomes, and customer feedback to: drive improvements, and own the success metrics for adoption, standby creation time, and time-to-recovery
  • Work with marketing, sales, and customer success on go-to-market, enablement, and launch readiness
  • Stay current on disaster recovery, replication, and high-availability: approaches across the database industry and cloud providers
