What you'll do
Own and deliver strategic outcomes: Drive the definition and delivery of quarterly and long-term goals, ensuring your team’s work ladders up to company-wide objectives. Lead engineers through ambiguity and open-ended problems, providing clarity and direction.
Shape architecture and technical strategy: Influence the design of backend systems across multiple teams. Ensure that solutions are scalable, extensible, and aligned with broader engineering standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product, analytics, and design to define solutions. Anticipate risks, articulate trade-offs, and ensure technical decisions support long-term product and business needs.
Champion operational excellence: Ensure high availability and reliability of services by establishing strong monitoring, alerting, and recovery practices. Drive improvements that reduce system fragility and operational burden.
Mentor and grow talent: Guide engineers within and beyond your team through mentorship, code/design reviews, and technical leadership. Set high standards for engineering practices and foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning.
Scale impact beyond your team: Author technical proposals, share best practices via documentation and tech talks, and advocate for improvements that raise the bar for the broader data engineering community.
