What you'll do
Field Investigations: Lead technical investigations for exterior component concerns and determine root cause using warranty data, field reports, vehicle inspections, component analysis, and cross-functional engineering input.
Corrective Actions: Own containment, corrective action development, validation plans, and effectiveness checks that reduce repeat field concerns and prevent recurrence.
Quality Trends: Analyze warranty claims, service data, customer feedback, parts returns, and field reports to identify emerging risks and prioritize actions based on customer impact, severity, frequency, and business risk.
Design Feedback: Translate field learnings into product improvements by partnering with engineering teams on design reviews, engineering changes, DFMEA updates, and validation activities.
Process Improvement: Evaluate manufacturing, assembly, dimensional, and plant quality processes that may contribute to exterior component failures, then align teams on practical improvements.
Supplier Resolution: Partner with Supplier Quality and supplier engineering teams to confirm failure mechanisms, verify corrective actions, and improve long-term component performance.
