What you'll do
Manufacturing Feasibility: Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews for General Assembly programs and make recommendations that improve manufacturability, quality, ergonomics, throughput, cost, and launch readiness.
Process Development: Take assigned general assembly processes from concept through prototype builds, validation, manufacturing release, and production handoff.
Tooling Strategy: Define equipment, tooling, fixture, conveyor, and layout requirements that support safe, repeatable, and scalable production processes.
Dimensional Control: Develop and implement dimensional-control strategies that support assembly accuracy, product quality, and process capability.
Launch Execution: Plan and execute manufacturing engineering launch activities, including prototype builds, installation, commissioning, issue tracking, risk mitigation, and cross-functional action-item closure.
Process Documentation: Create and maintain work instructions, bills of process, PFMEAs, quality control plans, and related documentation that support safe, consistent, and production-ready execution.
