The opportunity
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences…
What you'll do
Own the end-to-end analytics strategy and roadmap for Long-Term Stay & Luxe —: decide what to measure, what to test, and where the biggest leverage is. Prioritization decisions should exist because of your recommendations.
Build and evolve the quantitative models that run the business: supply-demand balance, marketplace liquidity, pricing and take-rate models, and LTV/forecasting — going beyond dashboards to build the underlying data models and pipelines.
Design and analyze experiments across pricing, search and ranking, host: onboarding, and guest conversion. Develop causal-inference approaches (holdouts, proxy metrics, quasi-experimental methods) for the many cases where a clean randomized trial isn't possible given lower volumes or longer booking cycles.
Act as a proactive strategic partner to product, GM, and cross-functional: leaders — surface insights and recommendations ahead of the task, and directly shape what the team builds, tests, and invests in next.
Build scalable, self-serve reporting and OKR tracking that gives leadership: real-time visibility into two fast-moving, still-forming businesses.
Move fast and stay effective in high-ambiguity, high-intensity conditions —: the business model, metrics, and priorities will keep evolving, and you should find that energizing rather than draining.
What they're looking for
- + years in analytics, data science, or a similarly quantitative role, ideally: including time inside a marketplace business (e.g., Zillow, Airbnb, Uber, DoorDash, Etsy) and/or experience incubating a business from 0 to 1.
- A track record of operating as a proactive strategic partner to senior: product and business leaders: someone who shows up with a point of view, not just an answer to the last question asked. Excellent communicator who can flex between technical depth and clear, senior-stakeholder storytelling.
- Genuine passion for the work and a high tolerance for intensity: comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and the pace of a business that's still being built.
- Demonstrated ability to build and ship quantitative models: supply/demand, pricing, matching, LTV, forecasting — not just analyze results, but construct the underlying logic and data pipelines yourself.
