Winter 2027 PCB Layout Engineer Co-opPosted today$33K–$50K

The opportunity

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U. S.

What you'll do

  • Schematic-to-layout translation: Take an existing schematic for a test fixture or subsystem board and produce a first-pass PCB layout in Altium under mentor review. Deliverable: completed layout, design rule check (DRC) report, and a writeup of key placement/routing decisions.

  • ECAD library development: Build and validate a set of component footprints and symbols for an active program, following library management best practices. Deliverable: verified library parts plus documentation of the library management process used.

  • Stackup and impedance study: Work with a mentor to define a board stackup for a target interface (e.g., USB, Ethernet) and calculate controlled-impedance routing requirements. Deliverable: stackup definition, impedance calculations, and routing guidelines for the design.

  • DFM/DFA review: Review an in-progress or completed layout against fabrication and assembly design rules, flagging issues before release. Deliverable: DFM/DFA findings report and recommended layout corrections.

  • Signal/power integrity pass: Perform a basic signal or power integrity check on an existing design (e.g., decoupling placement, return path continuity) and propose improvements. Deliverable: findings summary and updated layout recommendations.

  • Test fixture layout support: Support layout of a small test or bring-up board used for hardware validation. Deliverable: completed board layout ready for fabrication release, plus a short design review with the team.
