What you'll do
Trade study support: Perform a system-level trade study balancing risk, cost, and performance for a defined design decision. Deliverable: trade study writeup and recommendation reviewed by the engineering team.
Requirements decomposition exercise: Take a defined complex system requirement and decompose it into executable sub-requirements, under mentor guidance. Deliverable: requirements decomposition document validated against an existing design.
Design review support: Prepare supporting technical materials for an upcoming design review (SRR, PDR, or CDR) for a defined subsystem. Deliverable: review package contribution and follow-up action summary.
Test planning support: Support the development of qualification or acceptance test requirements and pass/fail criteria for a defined component, including coordination with a vendor or subsystem owner. Deliverable: test plan contribution and results summary.
Cross-disciplinary integration project: Work with engineers across two or more disciplines (e.g., mechanical and software) to support integration of a defined subsystem. Deliverable: integrated subsystem passing checkout, plus a summary of cross-team tradeoffs.
Technical briefing development: Support the development of a technical briefing or status update communicating program progress to internal stakeholders. Deliverable: reviewed briefing materials used in an actual program review.
What they're looking for
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace: Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Must be returning to school at the end of the co-op to continue academic: studies for at least one quarter or semester.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled: information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
- Ability to complete an in-person, 16–24 week co-op in one of our offices in 2027.
