The opportunity

Notion is seeking a Workplace Technology Operation contractor for our Tokyo office. As part of our growing Workplace Technology Operations team, you'll be a resourceful, security-focused, and people-centered professional who will help us continue scaling and establish best-in-class support for our end users.

What you'll do

  • End User & AV Support: Provide reliable onsite and remote technical support for Tokyo/APAC employees across hardware, software, connectivity, SaaS tools, conference room AV, and internal events, with clear communication and practical judgment.

  • Employee & Device Lifecycle Operations: Keep employee lifecycle and asset workflows running smoothly day to day, including account provisioning, device preparation, inventory hygiene, procurement coordination, retrieval, break-fix repairs, and deprovisioning.

  • Operational Excellence: Leave APAC IT Operations stronger than you found it by improving SOPs, Notion resource library content, service handoffs, self-service resources, and support practices that scale beyond one person.

  • Workflow Improvement & Automation: Identify and improve at least one recurring support workflow — such as onboarding, offboarding, provisioning, device setup, or self-service — using AI or lightweight automation to reduce manual work and repeat requests.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Workplace, People, Security, DART, and global IT teams on access, endpoint, and security-adjacent workflows, knowing when to escalate and how to keep employees moving without compromising controls.

  • Professional fluency in Japanese and English, with the communication skills: to support Tokyo employees directly and partner clearly with global teams across time zones.

What they're looking for

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to support distributed APAC office team: members, onsite events, office launches, or hands-on IT needs across the region.
  • Hands-on workplace IT support experience across macOS and Windows laptops,: iOS and Android devices, conference room AV, peripherals, and core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, identity, collaboration, and endpoint management: tools such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, Intune, Fleet, and other similar systems.
  • Understands ITSM principles and have familiarity with ticketing tools such as: ServiceNow, Atlassian, Zendesk, or Notion.
