What you'll do
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for: building and operating OpenAI's API infrastructure across multiple cloud providers.
Define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for API Multicloud,: ensuring the platform is scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Drive the architecture and execution of complex distributed systems that: support API routing, model serving, and cloud infrastructure across CSP environments.
Partner closely with inference, API, infrastructure, security, and CSP: engineering teams to launch new models, expand platform capabilities, and deliver reliable production services.
Own the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of the platform,: driving improvements in capacity planning, infrastructure efficiency, and deployment processes.
Recruit and develop exceptional engineering talent, fostering a culture of: technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
What they're looking for
- Set clear priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive cross-functional: execution while balancing near-term business needs with long-term technical investments.
- Experience leading, building, and developing high-performing engineering: teams responsible for large-scale cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure,: with the ability to drive architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to senior engineers.
- Experience building and operating production infrastructure on major cloud: platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
