Metrology EngineerActive$114K
The opportunity
We are looking for a Metrology Engineer to define and improve the measurement systems that ensure the quality of the products we design and build. In this role you'll design, validate, and implement measurement methods, gages, and inspection strategies, and integrate metrology…
What you'll do
Design, validate, and implement measurement methods, inspection programs, and: gages for parts, assemblies, and processes.
Interpret and apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5); develop inspection plans that reflect: critical characteristics and design intent.
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and measurement system analysis (MSA: / Gage R&R) to confirm capability and measurement confidence.
Integrate metrology early with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to: reduce risk and verify processes before they scale.
Provide technical guidance and support to Metrology Technicians and: Specialists on programming, methods, fixturing, and difficult measurements.
Troubleshoot systemic measurement issues: determining why inspections fail or give inconsistent results — and design solutions to prevent recurrence.
What they're looking for
- Support root cause investigations (RCCA), MRB, and incident management on metrology-related quality issues.
- Design and specify inspection gages, including Go/No-Go gages and automated: inspection systems (vision, scans, etc.).
- Analyze measurement data using statistical methods and data-visualization: tools, and report findings clearly to engineering and program stakeholders.
- Help ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025): and contribute to calibration and gage management practices.
