What you'll do
Be close to our Product & Engineering leaders to discover new areas of: interest and acceleration before an M&A target is even identified, and stay ahead of market trends in AI/ML, observability, security, and cloud infrastructure to inform Datadog's growth strategy
Identify and evaluate M&A targets and venture investment opportunities across: European markets, with a focus on AI-native and infrastructure companies
Build deep relationships with founders, VCs, and accelerators across the: Paris, London, and Iberian ecosystems to generate proprietary deal flow
Lead end-to-end due diligence: technical product assessments, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and integration planning
Partner with senior engineering and product leaders to assess technical: architectures, product fit, and team quality of target companies
Negotiate and close complex transactions, including acquisitions,: investments, and hyperscaler partnerships, and develop strategic recommendations to present to senior leadership including the CEO
What they're looking for
- years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, engineering,: or product management at a high-growth technology company
- Demonstrated technical depth: you can analyze a product deeply (how it would relate to ours and develop a working understanding of the architecture), and engage credibly with Product and Engineering leaders. This may come from a CS/engineering degree, prior engineering experience, or deep AI/infrastructure investing experience
- Strong AI literacy: you actively use AI tools in your daily work, can speak to current trends in AI/ML infrastructure, and can evaluate the technical merit of AI-native companies
- Experience covering or operating within European tech markets (Paris, London,: and/or Iberia strongly preferred); background at an AI-native company (e.g., building or investing in AI infrastructure, LLM tooling, or applied AI) is a strong plus
