What you'll do
Own Critical Systems: Lead the design and operation of highly reliable billing services that directly safeguard revenue, eliminate data leakage, and maintain customer trust.
Drive Architectural Vision & Strategy: Own the technical roadmap for Crusoe Cloud’s billing domain, designing high-throughput metering, pricing, and invoicing architectures that scale with growing AI compute workloads.
Drive Accuracy & Transparency at Scale: Architect real-time and batch usage processing pipelines, immutable ledger models, and automated reconciliation engines to ensure absolute financial correctness and auditability.
Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Finance, Product, Customer Success, and Support teams to align on requirements and translate complex enterprise pricing, commitment models, and business strategies into resilient platform capabilities.
Enable New Business Models: Design flexible, extensible billing capabilities and system modules to support rapidly evolving cloud offerings, dynamic pricing, and enterprise commitments.
Mitigate Systemic Risk & Improve Reliability: Establish robust safeguards, transaction standards, and automated verification workflows to proactively detect, isolate, and prevent billing discrepancies.
What they're looking for
- Drive Observability & Correctness: Elevate system observability, end-to-end reconciliation processes, and fault-tolerant error handling to guarantee billing state consistency across distributed systems.
- Mentor and Lead: Set team engineering practices, drive design reviews, and mentor mid-level engineers to build a high-performing engineering culture around financial data.
- Billing Systems Experience: Experience building or operating billing, payments, metering, or financial systems (or similarly complex, high-integrity distributed data platforms).
- Strong Ownership Mindset: Ability to own services end-to-end, with a strong focus on correctness, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
