What you'll do
Design, build and own backend services and APIs that power workflows for: Customer Care Agents and the broader Toast team
Build and maintain integrations across a complex ecosystem of internal and: external systems, including Salesforce, billing middleware, document management, and iPaaS workflow automation platforms
Write automated tests and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and system reliability
Monitor feature rollouts, respond to incidents, and iterate based on performance data and customer feedback
Partner with product, design, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver on shared goals
Leverage AI-augmented development tools to increase development velocity and code quality
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- + years delivering production backend systems at scale
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language
- Familiarity with API lifecycle management, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation
