Sr. Field Quality Engineer - PowertrainActive

The opportunity

At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our “Compromise Nothing™” approach to the global automotive market.

What you'll do

  • Field Investigations: Lead end-to-end investigations of customer-facing powertrain concerns and determine the technical path from initial signal through documented root cause.

  • Root Cause Decisions: Use diagnostics, vehicle data, component analysis, testing, and engineering evidence to separate root causes from symptoms and make clear recommendations for corrective action.

  • Corrective Actions: Drive permanent solutions across design, embedded controls, calibration, manufacturing processes, supplier controls, service diagnostics, and repair procedures, ensuring containment is followed by validated prevention.

  • Fleet Monitoring: Analyze warranty claims, diagnostic trouble codes, service repairs, telematics, vehicle logs, parts returns, and customer feedback to identify emerging failure modes and prioritize technical response.

  • Risk Prioritization: Quantify issue frequency, severity, affected population, reliability exposure, customer impact, and warranty cost to support risk-based escalation and resolution decisions.

  • Validation Planning: Define objective validation plans, acceptance criteria, sample sizes, and effectiveness measures to confirm corrective actions prevent recurrence in the field.

What they're looking for

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Reliability, Service, Diagnostic Engineering, Warranty Engineering, and Field Operations to maintain clear ownership and timely closure of powertrain issues.
  • years of experience in electric vehicle powertrain engineering, field: quality, product quality, reliability, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, validation engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,: Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience resolving customer-facing EV powertrain issues involving electric: drive units, traction motors, inverters, gearboxes, high-voltage interfaces, or supporting cooling and lubrication systems.
