The opportunity

We are looking for a self-motivated and resourceful Bank Head of FP&A to join us during a pivotal moment of growth. As Affirm Bank is currently in its formation phase, we are actively building out our foundational team.

What you'll do

  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Build and lead the Bank strategic finance team, providing strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching as we establish the function.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the end-to-end forecasting and budget process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals during this critical startup phase. Perform rigorous financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic planning, scenario analysis, and forecasting for the Bank.

  • Capital Strategy: Oversee capital stress testing and ongoing monitoring. Partner cross-functionally to validate inputs, pressure-test key drivers, and ensure outputs reflect current business dynamics.

  • Performance Management & Reporting: Monitor performance against forecasts, diagnose variances, identify root causes, and provide forward-looking insights to drive action.

  • Strategic Decision Support: Provide decision support on strategic initiatives, evaluating trade-offs and P&L implications. Translate complex analyses into clear, executive-ready narratives that drive insight, inform strategy, and align stakeholders.

What they're looking for

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Affirm, Inc. cross-functional teams to integrate financial workflows.
  • Minimum 8+ years relevant experience in analytical roles (e.g., strategic: finance, consulting, data science, or analytics), with demonstrated impact on business outcomes
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience
  • Proven ability to operate with ownership and influence in a fast-paced,: ambiguous environment, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
