What you'll do
Define and execute Waymo’s global strategy for systems integration,: diagnostics, vehicle commissioning, and field engineering across multiple vehicle platforms.
Lead, scale, and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering organization: encompassing Systems Integration, Diagnostics, Scaled Commissioning, and Field Engineering.
Own end-to-end systems integration and bring-up of new Waymo Driver hardware: and OEM vehicle platforms - spanning compute, sensor pipelines, vehicle networks, and system-level HIL testbeds, from early bench prototypes through autonomous fleet readiness.
Drive the architecture and development of next-generation diagnostics: infrastructure, automated tooling, and telemetry to support high-volume manufacturing and fleet operations.
Establish, mature, and scale vehicle commissioning: end-of-line test, provisioning, calibration, etc. at manufacturing facilities and service centers around the world.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Systems Engineering,: Manufacturing, Operations, and OEM partners to define integration requirements, triage complex system-level issues, and guide design-for-diagnostics and design-for-manufacturing feedback loops.
What they're looking for
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,: Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- + years of experience in systems engineering/integration, diagnostics, or: integration for complex hardware/software systems (e.g., automotive, robotics, aerospace, defense).
- + years of experience in people management, with a proven track record of: leading and growing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven track record leading full-system hardware/software bring-up, HIL: testbed architecture, and base-vehicle interface integration (power, networking, actuation, and ECU software/OTA) across multiple concurrent programs.
