What you'll do

  • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) of power generation systems, fuel gas,: steam, and chemical utilities, and recommend controls to manage risks as low as reasonably practicable

  • Evaluate equipment overpressure/overtemperature scenarios, including boilers,: heat recovery systems, turbines, pressure vessels, and relief systems

  • Perform/oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing: (SAT), risk assessments, and hazard analyses on complex process and power plant equipment

  • Implement and field-validate safety-critical instruments and interlocks: during Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) as new generating units and supporting systems come online

  • Implement a Process Safety Management (PSM) program and ensure compliance with all applicable pillars of PSM

  • Support commissioning and startup of new power generation facilities and major capital projects in Memphis

What they're looking for

  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and construction teams to identify and: mitigate process safety risks during both ongoing operations and facility build-out
  • Utilization of quality and risk tools such as root cause analysis and: corrective action, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and structured problem-solving
  • Utilization of process modeling tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and/or Aspen Dynamics
  • Bachelor’s degree in process safety, chemical engineering, mechanical: engineering, or an engineering discipline
