The opportunity

Like every team at OpenAI, the Marketing team contributes to our broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. We develop and execute strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI’s products and platform among our core audiences.

What you'll do

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and standards for ChatGPT’s consumer lifecycle: email program across product launches, sustained adoption campaigns, and automated journeys.

  • Turn product positioning, customer research, and usage insights into clear: messages, compelling creative, and practical use cases that help people take action.

  • Map the customer journey, identify barriers to adoption, and prioritize: opportunities using audience needs, behavioral data, and expected business impact.

  • Build and optimize onboarding, feature activation, setup reminders, and: re-engagement programs that help free and paid users build lasting habits with ChatGPT.

  • Partner with the consumer subscriptions PMM and Growth teams on trials,: upgrades, and subscriber retention, translating plan value into relevant lifecycle campaigns.

  • Lead campaign delivery from briefing and copywriting through creative: development, localization, quality assurance, and launch, coordinating agencies and cross-functional partners.

What they're looking for

  • Define audience segments, eligibility, timing, and calls to action with Data: Science and Engineering so each message reaches the right users at the right moment.
  • Develop a testing roadmap across messaging, creative, targeting, and customer: journeys. Partner with Data Science on experiment design and holdouts, then turn successful tests into ongoing programs.
  • Measure incremental product adoption, active usage, retention, and paid: conversion alongside email engagement. Share regular readouts with clear learnings, limitations, and recommended next steps.
  • Improve campaign production and reporting through reusable templates,: automation, and better tooling in partnership with Marketing Operations and Engineering.
