What you'll do
Expanding the Vision: We are expanding our Mobile Device Management ecosystem—unifying firmware, on-device apps, and security controls into one cohesive platform.
Frictionless Device Management: We are transforming the customer’s device lifecycle experience from out-of-the-box setup to continuous remote management, leveraging AI to dramatically reduce operator’s time spent troubleshooting and configuring devices.
Own the design and delivery of features across Toast's Android system: applications in Kotlin and Java, including device policy enforcement, out-of-box device setup, and firmware and app updates.
Write technical designs for features that span on-device apps, cloud: services, and Toast hardware, and lead effort estimation and planning for your projects.
Build reliable background services that run on devices with little to no user: interaction, and deploy them safely to the Toast fleet using feature flags, staged rollouts, and monitoring for success.
Lead Android application upgrades in support of new Toast Hardware and: Android OS upgrades for our system apps, working closely with Hardware and Firmware partners.
What they're looking for
- Raise the quality bar by expanding our end-to-end automated testing on real: Toast hardware with Robot Framework, reducing manual regression testing.
- Lead the investigation of complex production issues across the fleet, and: partner with Customer Care and pilot customers during device rollouts.
- Mentor engineers on the team through code review, design feedback, and pairing.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, QA, and other Software teams: to build scalable systems, making solid technical decisions with quality, security, and maintainability in mind.
