What you'll do
Lead deep technical initiatives to increase our consumer footprint at Toast: and employee engagement within restaurants
Design solutions that anticipate and accommodate future needs while considering tradeoffs
Participate in architectural discussions and influence the technical roadmap
Collaborate with teams of Design, Product, and other engineering members in: developing robust and scalable full-stack software applications
Champion engineering excellence to raise the bar for you, your team, and the company
Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve: velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to influence what we build and how we build it
What they're looking for
- + years of back-end experience in Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages
- Proficient with modern API design (TypeScript, REST, GraphQL) and relational: databases or alternative data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
- Balanced expertise: Ability to design high-level technical solutions on a whiteboard while remaining deeply connected to code-level execution and system performance.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, with the ability to drive cross-team: alignment and influence across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
