The opportunity

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to…

What you'll do

  • Ensure that Waymo technology programs satisfy the business needs of internal: and external users. Duties include:

  • Develop simulator multi-platform strategy in partnership with engineering and: product leads, contributing to simulator's long-term vision by defining OKRs, KPIs, roadmap, and success criteria;

  • Execute the foundational world model roadmap to ensure synthetic test suites: are reliable, realistic, and representative of real-world performance in support of U.S. and international commercial expansion;

  • Create ML model development plans to improve simulator realism across 3D: graphics, physics-based animation, sensor simulation, intelligent agent behavior, reactivity, and data augmentation;

  • Integrate the release process of the core simulator and intelligent: simulation realism features with the onboard software release cadence to enhance transparency, compatibility, and system trust;

  • Develop scalable methodology, process, and tool for simulator realism: evaluation, including the rollout of AI-assisted agentic workflows to enhance triage efficiency;

What they're looking for

  • Lead simulator architecture transformation into a scalable product, driving: initiatives to reduce configuration complexity, enhance self-serve tools, improve documentation, streamline onboarding, and reduce operational overhead to boost scenario creation throughput;
  • Built an adaptable program planning framework for a simulator platform,: supporting feature intake, bug reporting, prioritization, execution tracking, and retrospectives to meet evolving requirements for a credible and scalable simulation system;
  • Drive alignments across key stakeholders with system engineering, simulation,: evaluation, and onboard software teams to ensure globally optimized decisions that reflect top company priorities rather than isolated team-level objectives;
  • Represent the team’s scope and dependencies in cross-functional programs,: aligning simulator milestones with company-wide goals to optimize resourcing between long-term foundational world model release and near-term program delivery; and
