The opportunity

ChargePoint is looking for a motivated and creative Staff Electrical Systems Engineer to drive the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of our DC fast charging products. In this role, you'll take ownership of the technical direction, system architecture, and key design trade-offs.

What you'll do

  • Lead the electrical system architecture, define subsystem boundaries, and: manage cross-disciplinary interfaces for HV DC fast chargers

  • Review and approve design documentation, schematics, and board layouts,: drawing on deep experience in analog, digital, and power circuit design

  • Collaborate across power electronics, firmware, hardware, thermal, test,: quality, reliability, and regulatory teams to gather and align on cross-functional requirements and drive execution

  • Own the DFMEA process to ensure product reliability

  • Conduct short circuit analysis and select appropriate protection devices

  • Define fault classifications, thresholds, and response strategies for all system-level components

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely: related discipline; Master's degree preferred
  • to 10 years of hands-on industry experience working with systems in the 208–600 VAC and up to 1000 VDC range
  • Demonstrated history of leading complex hardware programs from initial concept through volume production
  • Experience with renewable energy systems and grid-tied inverter applications: such as solar, battery energy storage, or EV charging
  • Foundational understanding of power converter topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC,: DC/AC) and associated control strategies
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards such as IEC 62368, IEEE 1547,: UL 1741, CA Rule 21, IEC 61851, and SunSpec Modbus is a plus
  • Thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments alongside firmware,: hardware, regulatory, and systems engineering teams
